International Series Fare: Fixed-Price Seats from India Abroad

Travel agent? Get net series fares with your own markup.

An international series fare is a fixed price on a block of seats bought ahead on a set international flight and date, sold one by one until that date is full. On our Special Fixed Departure pages these seats cover routes from Indian cities to the Gulf, Southeast Asia, the Maldives and Europe, each on a confirmed airline PNR with a limited seat count shown per date.

International trips are where series seats matter most. Gulf flights fill up before Eid, school holidays and the winter wedding season, and fares to Thailand or Bali rise around Diwali and New Year. A series fare bought in bulk ahead is often cheaper than the live price in those peaks, but not always, so we show normal fares on the same search for you to compare with Show all fares.

Where international series seats may appear

  • Gulf: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad to Dubai, and Delhi or Mumbai to Abu Dhabi.
  • Southeast Asia: Delhi and Mumbai to Bangkok, Delhi to Phuket, Delhi to Bali and Delhi to Kuala Lumpur.
  • Maldives: Delhi to Male, popular for honeymoons and short beach breaks.
  • Europe: fixed-departure options from Delhi, usually tied to set travel dates in the summer season.

Series seats show only when an airline has inventory on that route and date. Airlines whose series seats may appear include IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express, Akasa Air, SpiceJet and Flydubai, depending on the route.

Passports and visas come first

An international ticket is only useful if you can board and enter the country. Before you book, check that every traveller's passport is valid for the period the destination requires, often at least six months beyond the travel date, and has blank pages. Check whether you need a visa, an e-visa or a visa on arrival for the destination and for any transit point. Because series fares usually do not allow name changes, the name on the booking must match the passport exactly, including the order of first name and surname. If your visa is still being processed, think carefully before buying a non-refundable series seat.

Prices are shown in INR

All fares on our site are shown in Indian rupees, and you pay in INR through the payment gateway. If you pay with a card issued outside India, or one billed in another currency, your bank may convert the amount and add its own charges. Any spending money, hotel deposits or airport purchases abroad will be in local currency, so plan for that separately from the ticket.

Rules on international series fares

  • Usually non-refundable; some taxes may be refundable under the airline's rules.
  • Name changes are usually not allowed.
  • Date changes are usually not allowed or are limited, which matters for return dates on a holiday.
  • Baggage is shown on each fare and differs by airline and route, so check it before packing for a Gulf trip with gifts.
  • The full fare rules appear before payment, and those are the rules on your ticket.

Airlines can reschedule or cancel international flights too. If that happens we contact you and help you rebook or claim a refund according to the airline's rules for that change.

Flights only, or a fixed-date holiday?

If you only need seats, book the international series fare and arrange your own stay. If you would rather have flights, hotel and sightseeing together on set dates, look at our fixed-departure holiday packages for destinations such as Dubai, Thailand and Bali. For groups of 10 or more passengers, ask for a separate negotiated group fare instead of booking several series seats.

How to book an international series fare

  1. Open the route page or search your route and dates.
  2. Choose a date with seats left, and read the baggage and fare rules.
  3. Enter names, dates of birth and passport details exactly as on each passport.
  4. Pay online in INR through the payment gateway.
  5. The ticket is issued against the confirmed PNR and emailed; carry it with your passport and visa to the airport.
