International Fixed Departure Flights from India
International fixed departure flights are seats on scheduled international flights from India that were bought in advance as a series or block for set dates, and are then sold at a fixed price. On JourneyDeal these appear as Special Fixed Departure price seats with a confirmed airline PNR. The number of seats left for each date is shown on the page, and a date closes once those seats are sold.
They are most useful on popular holiday and work routes, where live fares rise sharply in busy weeks. Because the seats were taken before that rise, the fixed price is often lower than the live fare at peak time. It is not always lower, so we also show normal fares and you can open all fares to compare before paying.
Gulf routes: Dubai and Abu Dhabi
- Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad to Dubai
- Delhi and Mumbai to Abu Dhabi
The Gulf is the busiest corner of the international fixed departure market from India, for families visiting relatives, workers returning after leave, and holidaymakers. Series seats here can come from several airlines, both full-service and low-cost, and they appear only when an airline has seats for that route and date. Demand peaks around Indian school holidays, Eid, Diwali and the Christmas and New Year weeks.
Beach and city breaks: Male, Bangkok, Phuket, Bali and Kuala Lumpur
- Delhi to Male for the Maldives
- Delhi to Bangkok and Mumbai to Bangkok for Bangkok and Pattaya
- Delhi to Phuket for the Andaman coast
- Delhi to Bali for Indonesia
- Delhi to Kuala Lumpur for Malaysia
These routes are popular for honeymoons, family holidays and short city breaks. The cooler, drier months from roughly October to March, plus the Christmas and New Year rush, are the main peaks, while the monsoon months are usually quieter. If you also need hotels and sightseeing, our fixed departure holiday packages combine flights with a planned tour on set dates.
Europe from Delhi
Fixed departure seats to Europe usually follow the Indian summer holiday season, when families and groups travel between about May and July, and again around the year-end holidays. These are long-haul sectors, so check the baggage, meals and any connection shown on the fare. A Schengen or UK visa takes time, so apply well before you book a non-refundable seat.
Passport and visa reminders
- Your passport should usually be valid for at least six months beyond your travel date; some countries are strict about this at check-in.
- Make sure the name on the booking matches the passport exactly, because series fares usually do not allow name changes.
- Check the visa rule for your passport before you pay. Indian passport holders need a visa for the UAE and for Schengen countries, and entry rules for Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Maldives have changed several times in recent years.
- Carry return or onward tickets, hotel details and enough funds, as immigration may ask for them.
- If you need a UAE or other visa, you can apply through JourneyDeal alongside your flight.
Rules on international series fares
- Usually non-refundable, with name and date changes either not allowed or limited
- Baggage is shown on each fare and varies by airline, route and date
- The detailed fare rules are shown before payment
- Airlines can reschedule or cancel; if that happens we help you rebook or claim a refund under the airline's rules
- Check the terminal printed on your ticket, since international terminals can differ by airline
Booking as a traveller, agent or group
Choose the route and date, pick a Special Fixed Departure price seat, enter passenger details as in the passport and pay online through the payment gateway. The ticket is issued against the confirmed PNR and emailed to you. Travel agents can register free and, after a KYC check, see net fares on the same international series inventory, add their own markup and book for customers from a wallet. For 10 or more passengers on the same flight, ask for a separate negotiated group fare instead.
