Mussoorie, the 'Queen of Hills', is one of India's most beloved hill stations — perched at 2,000 metres in the Garhwal Himalayas with sweeping views of the Doon Valley and, on clear days, the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Located 290 km from Delhi, Mussoorie makes for a rewarding — if long — day trip.
Kempty Falls (a stunning 40-metre waterfall), Mall Road (colonial-era shopping promenade), Gun Hill cable car (300 metres elevation gain, Himalayan panorama), Camel's Back Road (scenic ridge walk past the Himalayan Institute), Lal Tibba telescope (spot Badrinath and Kedarnath peaks).
March–June is ideal (pleasant weather 15–25°C). July–September is monsoon (lush green but misty and slippery). October–December is cold but clear with possible snowfall on Lal Tibba. Mussoorie is open year-round.
